What the MUVE pass actually includes
The MUVE Foundation pass covers the civic museums of Venice: the Doge's Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the Museo Correr on St Mark's Square, the National Archaeological Museum, the Biblioteca Marciana monuments, Ca' Rezzonico (18th-century Venice), Palazzo Mocenigo (textiles and perfume), the Glass Museum in Murano, the Lace Museum in Burano, the Natural History Museum, and the Carlo Goldoni house.
In 2026 the combined pass costs around €40 (full price) and is valid for 6 months from first use. A standalone Doge's Palace ticket costs about €30, while the Correr and the other square museums are grouped at roughly €25.
When the pass is clearly worth it
The math is simple: if you visit the Doge's Palace plus any two other included museums, the pass has already paid for itself. It is a no-brainer in these cases:
- ✦First-time visitors doing 'the classics': Doge's Palace + Correr + Archaeological Museum in one or two days on St Mark's Square
- ✦Island hoppers: adding Murano's Glass Museum and Burano's Lace Museum costs nothing extra with the pass
- ✦Art and history lovers with 3+ days: Ca' Rezzonico and Palazzo Mocenigo are among Venice's most underrated visits
- ✦Anyone visiting between November and March: lines are short, so you can comfortably use 4-5 entries
When you should NOT buy it
If your itinerary is a romantic weekend with one museum visit only, buy single tickets. The pass loses value if:
- ✦You plan to see ONLY the Doge's Palace - pay the ~€30 single ticket instead of €40
- ✦You prefer the Accademia Galleries or the Guggenheim: they are NOT covered by the MUVE pass (separate institutions)
- ✦You are travelling with children under 6 or hold qualifying disability passes: many museums are already free for you
- ✦St Mark's Basilica is on your list: it is not part of MUVE either (separate ticket, and the Pala d'Oro/loggia terraces cost extra)
Practical booking tips
Book the Doge's Palace time slot online in advance even with the pass - summer queues at the walk-up counter can exceed an hour. The pass activates on the first scan, not the purchase date, so you can safely buy it before departure.
