Piazzale Roma and the station to Murano in about 20 minutes, without crossing the historic centre: the fastest and most convenient way to the glass island.

Line 3 is the direct link between Venice and the island of Murano. It leaves Piazzale Roma, picks you up at the station (Ferrovia) and heads straight across the lagoon to Murano - no detour through the historic centre - reaching the island in about 20 minutes depending on where you get off. It's a favourite of both visitors and commuters, and it runs a circular route: one trip circles Murano and returns to Piazzale Roma, the full loop taking about an hour. If you're staying near the station or Piazzale Roma, it's simply the best way to Murano.

Line 3 is a daytime line, running daily from about 8:20 a.m. to 6:20 p.m., with commuter runs added on weekdays (Monday to Saturday) from about 6:20 to 7:50 a.m. and the last holiday run around 6:50 p.m. Frequencies vary between 20 and 30 minutes. Timetables are seasonal - always check the official ACTV navigation schedules or the dock displays.
After line 3 stops in the evening there's a gap until about 8:45 p.m., when line 4.2 takes over the Murano run (toward Fondamenta Nove and Piazzale Roma, about every 20 minutes until roughly 11:45 p.m.). Later at night, the NMU line covers a route almost identical to line 3's, but starting and ending at Fondamenta Nove instead of Piazzale Roma - the way back to Murano (or from it) in the small hours.
